Plantation, culture et entretien du citronnier caviar – Citrus australasica – À l’Ombre des Figuiers

Hello I’m Daniel from the nursery “In the shade of the fig trees”, collection nursery in brittany. In the world of citrus, the Citrus Australasica is very original on the one hand by its origins because it grows in eastern australia, on the other hand, by these little leaves measuring less than a cm, and especially by his fruits of 3 to 8 cm containing translucent and crisp marbles fully justifying its nickname of caviar lemon. Currently it is highly sought after by starred chefs, and the price of the kilo is still very expensive especially during Christmas and New Year celebrations. It is sadly not so much rustic : a range of minus 3 to minus 5 degrees, and it will be appropriate to protect it during the winter season, in a cool and enlightened room. You need to pay attention to watering : it is a little more greedy in water than other citrus fruits, particularly in the summer, where it will be appropriate to water it abundantly once or twice a week. At the nursery “In the shade of the fig trees”, we propose several colors of marbles : you can have translucent white marbles, green, red or pink like the pink eyes
